NRB is an
eclectic mix of people from all over the country that just so happen to share
equal views of music and music writing and also live in Las Cruces , NM . The
band believes that jamming is part of music and a great way to make the art
be exciting at every live performance. Kris Waynant and Chad Norred have been
writing music together on and off for about 6 years and currently provide the
majority of the songs played. However, Andy Collier, who just recently (April
2005) joined the band has already been a large part of the new material coming
out of NRB and figures to be a great influence in the band's next recording
scheduled for October and November. The process of writing songs can occur at
all times with all members and everyone has contributed greatly and added their
critique and comments to every song. We wouldn't play a song unless everyone
was sure that it was at its best potential. As fore mentioned the band is from
all over the country. Waynant is from Laurel, MD a suburb of D.C.; Norred is
from Louisa, VA, a tiny farm community outside Charlottesville ; Collier, who
has lived all over the country, settled in Evergreen, CO; and Matt Swanson is
from Fargo , ND . All have played in other bands in the past and currently Norred
and Collier are also involved in a Bluegrass Quintet called "The Baylor
Canyon Boys." NRB is dedicated to their music, their live shows and their
fan base which they hope to encourage more.
